The 28 year old defensive midfielder was Pardew's first signing on arriving at West Ham and had signed a new four year contract prior to the 06/07 campaign.

The fee is believed to be £1million which would certainly be good business for West Ham as he cost half that when he moved to Upton Park from Crystal Palace four years ago.
